The Waterville Opera House has hosted cultural events in Central Maine for more than a century, as the venue of choice for theater, concerts, dance, comedy, and other performing arts. An 810-seat, municipally-owned architectural treasure, the Opera House is currently being restored and renovated, so that it may continue to present the performing arts for the next 100 years and beyond.

Maine Music Showcase
June 29 at 7:30pm

The Waterville Opera House is happy to present the Maine Music Showcase. The show will feature five of Maine's finest up-and-coming singer-songwriters, performing their original works. As an added bonus, Maine humorist Gary Crocker has agreed to emcee the event. Featured at the show are Lauren Crosby of Georgetown, Danielle Pease of Winthrop, Shannon Thurston of Winslow, and Aaron Nadeau and Max Ater, both of Bath. Each act has received many awards, ranging from "Maine's Got Talent" and American Idol, and has appeared in numerous venues around the state, including Shannon's appearance as the Lady of the Lake in Opera House's production of Spamalot. This event will also cap off our spring fundraising so donations will be kindly accepted.
Tickets: $15 each

Summer Theater Camp

Presented by Missoula Children's Theatre

Rapunzel • July 29-August 3
Robinson Crusoe • August 5-10
The Princess & the Pea • August 12-17

Missoula Children's Theatre Camp is a fantastic opportunity for children who are interested in the performing arts. Two tour actor/directors from Missoula, Montana bring an entire show with them -- scripts, sets, costumes -- and lead the children through auditions and rehearsals before Saturday's performance for family and friends. Not only do the kids learn about the theater, but they express themselves creatively, share social experiences, and gain self-confidence. It is a friendly environment where every child plays a part and has a lot of fun! For more information, please click here.
