The Waterville Opera House enriches and inspires the central Maine community through the performing arts. We bring area residents high-quality entertainment and educational programming which require the hard work, dedication, and energy of many individuals. Ticket sales and tuitions provide less than half of the income needed to produce our musicals, dramas, concerts and educational outreach.

WHAT YOUR GIFT SUPPORTS

The generosity of our community sustains the Waterville Opera House as one of Maine’s principal performing arts venues. With your support, the Opera House has achieved the following benchmarks:

• More than 30,000 central Maine residents attend performances each year.
• Each year more than 85 performances take place on the Main Stage and 45 in the Studio Theater.
• More than 4,000 school children each year enjoy seeing literature come to life, from Kipling’s The Jungle Book to Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. For many, a trip to the Opera House is their first exposure to professional-quality live theater.
• Nearly 200 children take to the stage annually in Opera House theater camps. Some discover a passion to theater that leads to a life-long career path.
• Nearly half of theater-goers dine or shop in conjunction with attending a performance, making the Opera House a major contributor to the local economy.
