It takes many different pieces to bring something to life on stage! Whether it’s costumes, instruments, art supplies, or spotlights, each piece is essential to the big picture and must fit together perfectly with the others that surround it. Just like a puzzle! After more than a century of providing central Maine with quality entertainment, we at the Waterville Opera House recognize that the most important piece of our puzzle is YOU! Your help and that of other generous patrons, makes the Opera House a place for bringing our community together, educating our youth, telling stories, and inspiring creativity.
Like all nonprofits, we depend on community support to produce the excellent shows you’ve come to expect. We need your help to raise $20,000 because ticket sales cover only half of our annual programming needs. Donations enable the Opera House to provide tickets to financially disadvantaged families, host a free Strings Workshop for local students with nationally touring, professional musicians, offer scholarships to children to attend theatre camp, and provide affordable tickets to educational performances. In other exciting news, we’re proud to announce our formal affiliation with Waterville Creates and the Maine Film Center, which will create efficiencies and provide us with more resources in marketing and development, while allowing the Opera House to focus on our mission and programming.
These successes have only been possible with the support of our community. Will you be a piece of the puzzle this season and consider a gift to support the performing arts? Thank YOU for playing a role at the Waterville Opera House!
With ticket sales and rentals covering only 60% of our operating budget in an average year, the Waterville Opera House counts on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations. We hope you will consider a gift.

Corporate Matching Gifts
The Waterville Opera House applies all employer matching gifts towards the individual donor’s giving level. Some companies provide this benefit for both current employees and retirees. Please check with your human resources representative to see if your company matches employee gifts.
With a loyal audience of more than 30,000 patrons each year, the Waterville Opera House offers brand exposure at a variety of levels for designated events.
Season sponsorships give companies maximum exposure throughout the entire season, with logos featured on our website, e-newsletter, newspaper advertisements, and posters for all Opera House-produced events.
Performance sponsorships give businesses featured exposure during the run of a particular production or event and keep ticket prices affordable to the local community.
Arts & Education Sponsorship
By sponsoring our Arts & Education programming, you can take pride in knowing your support enables young people to experience performing arts for the first time on our stage. Your gift keeps ticket prices affordable for schools which bring their students to our productions and provides scholarship assistance to children attending our theater camp.
